Hello Dear Readers,
It’s 3:00 am here and to be perfectly honest, my post isn’t ready. It’s a good one, but I’m flat outa time. Gotta get some sleep or tomorrow will be a snoozefest.
So with that in mind, I wanted to share with you some more links I’ve found as well as a promise to follow up Monday with the regular post and podcast. (So, have you listened to it yet? Did you know I have extra stuff in the podcasts like book reviews?)
1937 Fire lookout cookbook: (PDF link)
Great link as well as some great food. You should really check it out if you have a moment.
Gus the Mechanic from Popular Science: http://www.gus-stories.org/january32.htm
Did you ever read this guy in Popular Science? This is one of my favorite sections as I try to match wits with Gus. Check it out!
Well with all of the oil going up in price, at least the archives are viewable. Check this link out for back issues.
I’ve been sitting this link for a while. I’ve mentioned it on some online forums, but I don’t think I’ve mentioned it much on the blog. It’s a link to some full text Navy magazines for sailors. All of the decades are well represented, but I think this one is from ’49 if I remember correctly. Good reading!
Medical Science, especially medical science as applied to the military is a vast subject. This link will take you directly to the Borden Institute, which makes available military medical textbooks. Yeah, the topic is a little far out, but there is some good information here!
Lastly, I’ve just found this link in the last month or so, and it’s a doozy! Have you heard about Sports Illustrated putting their back issues online? Well, they did it! The whole magazine. Ads, the works! Here’s the link, check it out!
Well, that about wraps this up. It’s almost four and I gotta get some sleep. I should have the post up Monday as well as the podcast. Look for updates later in the day and don’t forget to check the podcast out. Let me know what you think….I’m still learning, so go easy on me!
Have a great weekend!
