Hershey bar anyone?

Old Hershey factoryVery recently my family and I had the opportunity to visit Hershey Pennsylvania and spend some time at the touring the Hershey factory and learning more about this famous American brand.

While I had been here before, it’s always neat to see something you really like and the history behind it, the personalities, the hard work and yes, sometimes even some controversy.

If you haven’t had a chance to hit the backstory about Hershey, all of his initial business failures, successes, and growth, then it’s worth it to spend some time digging around the Internet and finding out some more information.

Then of course, beyond just the basic business information, sometimes it’s fun learning about the story behind all of the candy.  Here’s a few links that I enjoyed that you might as well:  Hershey barReese cupsHershey Kiss

On a more serious note, if you’re really into research, either professionally ( a librarian like myself) or just like to dig around, you can always check out the local historical archives.  The Hershey Community Archives has a ton of information.
